Dixon Family Papers 1916-1942

The Dixon Family Papers include the diaries of Florence Worden Dixon Leach from 1916 through 1923, and a scrapbook she compiled while at the University of Montana from 1916 and 1920. It also includes correspondence between Virginia Dixon Dean and her parents, Dean's diaries dated 1924 to 1942, a photo album circa 1910 and a biography of William Andrews Clark that she wrote in 1937.

Florence Worden Dixon Leach was born in Missoula, Montana, on 20 March 1899 to Joseph Moore Dixon and Caroline Melissa Worden. Florence was the second daughter of six. Joseph Dixon was an attorney who became active in politics and he served in the U.S. House and then Senate from 1903 to 1913.
